Further awards

Different awards may apply to workers on farms, vineyards, orchards, plantations and pastoral properties or in other agricultural, forestry and fishing industry occupations, such as:

Working as:

• a station hand or jackaroos/jillaroos on a station property
• a shed hand or shearer on a station property

Workers growing:

• fruit, vegetables, herbs, or mushrooms
• grapes on a vineyard
• plants, turf and/or commercially cut flowers

Working in:

• tea growing, harvesting or processing
• cotton harvesting
• cotton ginning
• marketing, handling or cleaning of fish
• prawn or other sea food processing [other than fish]
• beef feedlot operations
• forest growing, management and harvesting

Working on:

• a cane farm growing or harvesting sugar cane
• a poultry farm or hatchery in handling eggs
• a poultry farm for the breeding and raising of chickens
• a poultry farm for processing chickens
• a farm in breeding and handling of pigs

Exceptions:

You may not be covered by an award if you are:

• arboriculturist, fisherman, arborist or tree doctor
• working in industries like aquaculture or dairying,
• working on agricultural farms in occupations associated with growing grains, cotton, or peanuts,
• working on vinification (wine making),
• an owner, manager or overseer on pastoral properties,
• immediate family members of a feedlot owner.
