The site search facility can be found in the top right hand corner of all web pages on our site.

Step 1
To perform a search, select from the drop-down menu (or radio buttons) and choose either:
Step 2
Enter one or more key words in the search for box. As the search tool is insensitive to case, there is no need to use capital letters. Using words such as a, an, and, the, of or '-' (dashes) will not improve the results of the search.
You may refine or narrow your search by adding more words to the search terms you have already entered.
To modify the default search behaviour:
1. + and - qualifiers
If you prefix a word with + that word is required to be on the page.
If you prefix a word with - that word is NOT required to be on the page.
Example: + clerical results in all awards with the word 'clerical' in its title. Alternatively, + sick results in all pages on the subject sick leave.
2. * wildcard
If a query word ends with * all words on a page which start the same way as that query word will match.
Example: hospital* can result in 'hospitality', 'hospital' or 'hospitals'.
Step 3
Select 'go' or the 'search' button (or press the 'enter' key on your keyboard).
Step 4
To clear your current search, select the 'reset' button and repeat Steps 1 to 3.
Any documents containing all your words will be displayed first, followed by documents that contain some of your words.
Each result will include:

Step 1
To perform a search, enter one or more words in the job title box.
Job titles are not gender specific i.e. 'waitress' would not provide the necessary results as would the word 'waiter'.
By default the search tool is designed to find an award which has the exact match for all words entered in your search query.
Example 1
Beauty therapist would derive a different result than therapist (i.e. beauty therapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist or dental therapist).
Example 2
There may be variations to the spelling of job titles in awards e.g. deck hand may derive a different result than deckhand or deck-hand. By applying the wildcard *, after the word deck (i.e. deck*), ALL words which start the same way as that query word will match.
Step 2
For best results, type in a job title in the search box AND/OR select a workplace from the drop-down selection.
Awards have been categorised into 16 common workplace types e.g. Accommodation, Cafes & Restaurants. Refer to our glossary of workplace types for more details.
Step 3
Select the 'submit' button (or press the 'enter' key on your keyboard)
Step 4: (Optional)
To clear your current search, select the 'reset' button and repeat Steps 1 to 3.
