The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission announced
the following decision:
- a $23.60 per week increase in award wage rates;
- a $23.60 increase in the level of the Queensland
Minimum Wage, as it applies to all employees,
bringing it to $552.00;
- an increase in existing award allowances which
relate to work or conditions which have not changed,
and service increments, by 3.8%; and
- an operative date for the respective increases
of 1 September 2008.

Important Notice
The information
outlined above applies to employees and employers
in the State industrial relations jurisdiction. (i.e.
businesses operated by sole traders or partnerships)
This wage increase will not affect employers and
their employees who are in the federal industrial
relations jurisdiction (i.e. constitutional corporations
- Pty Ltd or Ltd companies and their employees).
