Young workers rights & obligations

Starting work
Outlines what young workers (including school-aged and young children) need to know before they start work. Also includes an overview on what is probation, the period on trial and induction training.

Ending employment
When a young worker is dismissed or they decide to leave their place of employment - what are the rights and obligations of an employer or employee?

Child employment
Certain rights and obligations apply to all children under 18 year of age. These obligations apply whether the work is paid, unpaid, voluntary or for a family business. This section includes employers' duties with respect to contacting parents, safeguarding children, record keeping requirements and management of specific workplace health and safety risks associated with having children and young workers within the workplace.
